Why Islands Hospice?

"Mahalo nui loa to the Island Hospice staff! They are the most sympathetic, compassionate, professional, trustful, hardworking, and loving individuals. Such excellent medical and humane care was given to our daughter. Their explanations were concise when applying medical care. They patiently listened and responded to any issues or concerns and allowed us to make informed decisions. They assisted with the completion of required forms; which were insurmountable at the time. Most importantly, we never felt alone. We were comforted by the staff during our daughter's last hours and supported when she passed. We are truly grateful and thankful for Islands Hospice and its staff. We couldn't have overcome the unpleasant and painful experience without them."

“Working with Islands Hospice has been an enjoyable experience on many levels. I have confidently referred my patients to them because of their friendly, knowledgeable, and compassionate staff. Without fail, they have attended to my patients promptly and with professionalism. I call Islands Hospice, they quickly respond, and provide the highest level of care for my patients."

Dear Ms. Furrow:
This letter pertains specifically to an individual under your supervision who exhibited exceptional personal interactive skills, professional competency, and compassion without pretense. We want to personally commend Bethany for her approach to daily functions  of a Nurse Case Manager. Though at times, these tasks may seem routine, we appreciated Bethany's attention and care she provided our mother.  Finally, the term 'manager' in her title is especially noteworthy because she is the consummate manager, not only of clinical tasks but also tasks of a personal nature. You should know that she provides Islands Hospice, Inc. with a very positive image.

“Words cannot describe our heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care you gave to Ron during his last days. Each of you is so very special in your own way.”

Dear Geri and Mike:
We were very impressed with the exceptional care that both of you bestowed not only on Henry Kono but to the other patients at your Palolo Hospice location. As you performed your duties, your compassion, patience and understanding to any given situation spoke volumes. The Islands Hospice's goal of providing palliative and hospice care to the patients and also accommodating the needs of family and friends to feel welcome, helped all of us who visited Henry at your Home.  We feel blessed to have had the privilege of experiencing your facility.

Dear Kristy:
Thank you so much for helping us... We can have closure before we all leave for the mainland.  We thoroughly appreciate your loving care, kindness and help!  Please give our appreciation to Dr. Voulgaridis and all of your staff.  We truly felt part of your Islands Hospice Ohana!  Much Love!

“Thank you for taking such good care of our mom, Esther Lee, who passed away on November 30, 2012. Although she was not in your care for very long, she appreciated your attention and concern for her. Mom will be missed. In her short time with Islands Hospice, she enjoyed the visits by your staff. Keep up the good work.”
– Howard and Bob, Honolulu

“My family is very thankful for the loving care you all provided for my mom, Lillian Kido. Although I met with you only rarely, I appreciated the phone call updates and could see that my mom was comfortable in the months prior to her passing. I appreciate your professionalism and attention to all details, even preparing us for her funeral. I was blessed to see mom’s countenance become more relaxed and peaceful these past few months under your care. May God bless you in all you put your hands to.”
– June Wong, Honolulu

“Thank you so much for your wonderful cards and well wishes that have been continuously sent to me since my mother’s death last year. My family and I really appreciated the care and support my mother received during her final days. I would love to volunteer since I recently retired. Thanks again and keep up the wonderful work you do!”
